Miss Alayne began teaching art at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and has enjoyed teaching children and adults in the Barrington area since 2001.
Miss Alayne has a B.S. in Psychology with a studio art minor from Centre College and her M.A.A.T. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she taught open studio classes for ages 3 to adult through the Division of Continuing Studies for several years. She also enjoyed teaching children and adult classes in Barrington since 2001. She continues to partner with the Arlington Heights Memorial Library to provide Art with Alayne creative aging programs through their senior services department and on their YouTube channel. Miss Alayne loves the interaction of explaining art techniques to artists of all ages and any skill level and is pleased to continue offering quality art lessons to the community through the Art Together Studio in and by the Community Church of Barrington.
Now the Community Art Director at the Community Church of Barrington, Miss Alayne is thrilled to contribute to the continued appreciation for the arts that has existed there for over a century and a half. Miss Alayne also provides a variety of artistic expressions of worship, including murals and dynamic artwork for services. See the "Art for Worship" page for more information.
All classes are taught by Miss Alayne and all but the Teen Studio classes are taught in a step-by-step manner, where there is a method taught to finish a specific project. Both absolute beginners and well-practiced creators will find these teaching intensive lessons to be safe and encouraging, yielding amazing results. Students learn many drawing and painting skills WHILE they are accomplishing fine art together. A variety of media is taught as specific art supplies are introduced and explained every step of the way to the finished product. Enjoy the process as questions and experiments spark thought and imagination until the project unfolds completely at their own hands – students learn how to both draw and use color to finish their projects without marks on their projects by anyone but them! Never the same project twice for the same student and a variety of media is continuously taught so you do not have to worry about a project repeating.
Art classes are for EVERYONE and students are welcomed and celebrated from all backgrounds and beliefs.
In-Person Classes are going on now and are offered continuously at the same day and time throughout the year unless otherwise specified. Start at any time depending upon availability.
